Considered to be the least valuable coin in Mithgar, from the island of Gjeen. It was made of tin and lead, and had a small hole in the middle.
However, it attained additional significance during the Second Era when the future kings Blaine and Agron agreed to come to the aid of the other if it was ever needed, if a single Gjeenian penny was sent as "payment." When threatened by the forces of Modru, Blaine sent Agron the coin, but it did not reach its destination until many months later, due to the original messenger being murdered.
The Gjeenian penny later became a standard signal for help needed throughout Mithgar. At the start of the Winter War, a messenger brought a penny to the Boskydells to call on the Warrows for their help.
